NYGÅRD for Life Pink & White Charity Ball @ Convention Centre

Pink was the power colour at this inaugural fundraising event in support of breast cancer research Aug. 26.
A sold-out audience of 900 received a sneak peek at NYGÅRD fashions for fall and holiday 2005.
Among the 25 Women of Distinction who took a turn on the catwalk were Carol Huculak, Dr. Leigh Murphy, Bonnie Korzeniowski, Cathy Gauthier and Karen Banfield, along with breast cancer survivors, NYGÅRD customers and NYGÅRD makeover recipients.
Highlights of the event included a $550,000 cheque presentation to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, a round of Happy Birthday to NYGÅRD matriarch Hilkka Nygård and mid-show entertainment from Fubuki Daiko and an aerial acrobatic group.
The evening continued with a delicious dinner and dancing into the wee hours.
