5. Martin Ernst Gottlieb KOBERSTEIN
From Tanta Anna's letter:
- Martin went to highschool in Furstenwalde, but before he could finish he had to quite as it was too expensive.
- Hedwig Goetze, his new mother, brought her brother Otto, who was 2 older than Martin, to live with them. Otto went to trade school to learn woodworking (tischler) and Martin had to learn basket weaving. The two guys got a knapsack full of bread from the family bake house to deliver on their way to their apprenticeships.
- Abt. 1928? Martin became unemployed and looking for work, wound up in Saarbrucken.
- When the Autobahn was being built, slowly people started finding work. Martin found work with one of the neighbors as a laborer.
- During the war, Martin came home for one day to be at Klaus Dieter's christening abt. 1942.
