Otto went to trade school to learn 2 CONT woodworking (tischler) and Martin had to learn basket weaving. She became a 2 CONT housemaid in Berlin without any help from 2 CONT home. 2 CONT - Erna went to the government to complain about the situation her 2 CONT siblings were in and she wanted custody of them. Uncle Rudolf was their 2 CONT legal guardian. When Erna married in 1928 the children were not allowed 2 CONT to attend the wedding. 2 CONT - Erna got permission from her stepmother, Hedwig Goetze, to take Georg 2 CONT and Annie over Christmas. He agreed and they 2 CONT bought a used steam oven from another baker. They then hired a master 2 CONT baker to run the bakehouse and teach them the trade. They made buns and 2 CONT breads and imported caked and pies from Furestenwalde to sell. They let 2 CONT the master baker go once they learned the business. The children really 2 CONT liked the master baker as he made great fresh buns.
