Here is a part of this modern map with addresses where Kobersteins of the Berlin Address Book 1799-1943 were located.  Koberstein's from Berlin Address Book on Modern Map #2 These are works in progress.

Here is the same part of Berlin from an old turn of the century map.

This link is for German Cities Street Guides including Parish and Civil records information.

And here is an attempt to start connecting Genealogical records from Berlin to these address "Buch" entries.

This is probably F Koberstein in 1865 on on in the Berlin Address book. He was a "Nachtwächter, Verlängerte Kleine MarkusStrasse im hohendorfschen Hause".

Other (not from IGI or with the church given)

Bruno Paul Koberstein and wife Klara Dorothea Wulf

Henry William Koberstein and wife Amelia Werfel with son Frank William Koberstein who was born "50 miles north of Berlin" per his obituary.

Johann Koberstein and wife Katharine Schneider with son Joseph Benedictes Custer Koberstein born March 20, 1861 in Berlin.  Based on this information Johann should be listed in the Berlin Address Books in 1861 when his son was born, but there is no J. or Johann during that year or +/- 5 years.  I suspect he was born near Berlin but not in it.

Franz Hermann Karl KOBERSTEIN and wife Martha Helene SEMMLER.

Marriage of Karl Otto Emil Exxner to Charlotte Marie Otilie Anna Koberstein on April 15, 1912 in Berlin.  Charlotte's father is Paul Franz Richard Koberstein (6).

Hans Carl Gotthold Koberstein (the artist) and wife Gisela Riegel.  Here is a start on a biography of Hans using the Berlin Address Books.  Here are some of his painting projects.  Interestingly his mother, Bertha geb. Lessing is listed a widow in the Berlin Address Books.  So after the death of his father,Karl Jakob Wilhelm on15 Sep 1899 in Berlin-Wilmersd, his mother was listed as a widow.   Karl should be listed in the Berlin Address books before he passed away.  The only one that seems to fit is: Karl, Kürchnermeister (master furrier), Linienstr. 47; 1899.  This entry for Karl appears to be part of a long span  (1870-1899) of 'C'arl's with the same address and occupation.  See 'C' entry.  He was a furrier for 29 years in the same location.   Hans grandfather is the German Liturature historian August Karl Koberstein (Information on him)
